Forza Horizon 5: Hot Wheels Review (raptor)
as much as I love hot wheels and collecting the diecast cars IRL, I wouldn't recommend this DLC unless you've exhausted the main map and want more to do. The cars included in the DLC are great, ranging from original HW models like the Deora II and Bad to the Blade to high performance vehicles like the COPO Camaro, Schuppan 962, and the Venom F5. The map leaves a lot to be desired and a casual playthrough can be completed in about a single play session. The circuits are decent fun and the magnet track gimmick is interesting but it doesn't make the tracks stand out from any other. If you're a completionist, you'll unfortunately be subjected to Hot Wheels Horizon Tour which pretty much nobody plays. You need to drive 50 miles for the mission and a full Horizon Tour racks about 20 or so miles meaning you will have to wait for a single other person to queue up and hope they stay with you to complete this at least 3 times. There is also no incentive for doing this other than an achievement and an in-game accolade that gives you a character customization item. Exciting stuff. It might be risky for Playground Games but I would rather have an actual incentive to challenge myself such as a DLC exclusive Forza Edition car. If you are craving a Hot Wheels experience, then buy this DLC on sale. Otherwise there are plenty of Hot Wheels brand cars in the base game, or just go play Hot Wheels Unleashed.
