Forgotten but Unbroken Review (CthulhuNeedsCoffee)

After playing the first few missions I really like this game overall. Great game that anyone who likes XCom style turn based combat and base management would like, set in eastern Europe during WW2.

Pros: I love the squad based management and tactical combat, although I would not call the combat overly realistic as everyone is a bullet sponge so more of a classic DnD/video game weapon and damage model but it is fun and challenging. I like managing the camp as well, gives it a more complete and immersive experience with a different set of challenges.

Cons: The game is challenging without a difficulty setting so this may turn off some people and limits replayability. You can always load the autosave for your last turn in combat or restart the mission if you make a big mistake and want a redo. The game also does not hold your hand so if you misuse your resources in camp it can have big consequences down the road.

Hopefully the game implements a difficulty setting and fixes some of the bugs but I have not come across any showstopper bugs yet. Also a more complete camp management tutorial would help. Game works on the Steamdeck, although some of the text can be a little small and it would be nice to be able to zoom in more in combat. Load times could use some improvement as well.

Great game that can only get better with time.
