Floodland Review (Nordil(Hun))

The game is quite similar to Surviving the Aftermath.
Sadly it is way worse than that game. (And i did not have a good oppinion of Surviving the Aftermath neither!) It has a lot of "visual effects" that actually do not add anything to the game beside draining resources. In Surviving the Aftermath you had a map where you could build your stuff and a world map, where districts were present and where you could loot, build outposts and the like.
Here there is no world map, instead there are districts in the "build map". You need to unlock the technology to build districts, to build PATHS (which actually do not really matter), to explore, to be able to explore more thouroughly and such. By the time you get your third island(district) up and running you will notice that the game will start to slow down. Very noticeably. I had to turn off the autosave function as it is a known cause of crashing.(I myself experienced it 5 times.) By the time i reached the end game as to say, i often had to reissue commands as the game did not register them, the game quite often "hung" as in loading, so there are terrible performance issues. The technology menu seemed interesting, until it turned out that for some reason sometimes it does not want to expand, and you need to repeatedly click on it pull down and right and hope that this time you can finally unlock farms, as it will be visible.
The game also overdoes micromanageing. Just the call it specializing.
The two most important non-renewable resources are rubble and screws. You will be constantly on the lookout for them, and they will be the main reason for you to settle multiple islands. (So build an academy for each clan:P)
There is a "clan" system introduced, which is basicly a form of different beliefs and customs for groups, but it is just annoying, and you are better off shipping everyone to their own island, as when the clans live under the same roof they usually just end up hating each other. Due to this a legislative system is also introcuded with buildings tied to them, and mutually exclusive laws. But basicly...it is just a bad ripoff from Frostpunk.
I was quite excited for this game when i saw it first, but it failed to deliver quite hard. I bought it for 6 euros as it was on sale, and it was BARELY worth that price.
The game is not really interesting, the gameplay is boring and repetitive, the story is way below average, and the performance issues are just terrible. Overall a 42/100.
Edit: I played the game with a PC that is over the recommended system requirements. I managed to finish the game with medium settings. So basicly if you are below the recommended settings do not even try the game, as with even low settings you might experience constant crashes not letting you get past a certain point. Which you will most likely encounter after about 4-5 hours of gameplay.
Edit2: The game has stopped receiving updates, so most of the issues that are there, including the terrible performance issues will persist. Currently the game for many will be therefore unplayable. (Even on the recommended computer.) I can only suggest not to buy this AT ALL.
