Final Fantasy VII Review (hiden001)

What can I say? it was my first ever FF game and to this day is my all time favorite game. There is nothing I dislike about this game but let me rate it anyway:
1. Music. Right from the intro the music is so pheonenal that it's super easy to get immersed in this game. Like every game it has it's better and worse tracks but every track is on point to perfectly set the atmosphere. There is a reason why in every Meme, it's always the FF7 victory theme that is used. And who doesn't get goosebumps when listening to One Winged Angel? Easy 10/10.
2. Graphics. This where I'm propably the most biased. But let's be real, he graphics are aged. But I think it still holds up and despite having this strange PS1 era polygone style, I like the art style and graphics. Espeically the cinematic animation for the summons are just phenomenal. Again, I'm totally biased here but I still think it's a 9/10.
3. Story: I could go on forever how this story is an absolute masterpiece. The overall premise and the stakes are amazing. it's the first FF game where it's super easy to get immersed because of it's steampunk theme that perfectly blends reality with a fictional world. The story isn't really dark like many claim. I would say it's a very mature story that handles topics everyone can relate to and understand. And the characters are just perfect. Every single one. There isnt a single character I don't like (besides maybe Cait Sith). They are all unique in character and design yet all very likeable. FF7 to this day still has the best and most popular FF girl after all. If there is one thing you can't argue about then it's the MC and the villain. Fact is, when you think of Final Fantasy, Cloud and Sephiroth immediately come to mind. Easy 10/10.
4. Gameplay: The introduction of limit breaks was groundbreaking. Some of them are flat out op and they give the game new depth. What I love the most thugh is the Materia system. To this day it's my most favorite combat system in Final Fantasy. It's just perfect an allows for the ultimate freedom. You can do with every character what you want to do without losing any progress. In most Final Fantasy games your have to decide what to do with your characters or their roles are alreay pre-determined. In many of the older games Magic is often unviable or it's the opposite like in FFVI and magic is way too op. This game has the perfect mix of physical an magical builds, especially due to the command and independant materia. You don't have to decide wether your characters should be physical or magical, they can easily be both at the same time. There is no other FF game that can be utterly broken and makes you feel like a god with the materia system. You can experiment freely without consequences to find the most broken combos. If there is one downside to it, then it's that it makes them game too easy. Still, it's an easy 10/10.
There you have it. FFVII is a masterpiece. Anything below 10/10 would do it injustice. You like turn-based JRPGs? Then this game is a must play.
