Fears to Fathom - Ironbark Lookout Review

Let me preface this by saying that I love the Fears to Fathom games immensely. I've played every episode released so far and adore the stories, atmosphere, chilling, eerie sounds, etc. Everything just meshes together so well to make you feel like you are actually there.
With that being said, I say this lightly: this was by far my least favorite episode. This is not to say that the episode is bad. I'm just comparing all four episodes and stating my opinion that this was my least favorite of the four. The story being told in Ironbark Lookout is amazing, and even weeks after beating it, I'm still thinking about the events that unfolded, since the stories being told are based on true stories.
When I say that this was my least favorite episode, I'm mostly referring to bugs/glitches. This was the most buggy episode; maybe I'm among the few that ran into bugs. This could be entirely possible. Don't let that dissuade you from the amazing experience this game can offer you. I crashed twice and even had a couple in-game bugs that messed with immersion. With the two crashes, I lost a bit of game progression and had to replay 20 or so minutes just to catch up to where I stopped.
Another complaint I have is that I fully expected Rayll to have implemented a more detailed sound volume control by now. I enjoy having the option to manipulate sound effects, music, dialogue, etc. I like things at varying volumes; the fact that this isn't a universal option in most games nowadays is interesting, but then again, I'm not a game developer, so this might not be something easy to implement into games. It's not the end of the world, but it is something I would like to see in future episodes.
All in all, the story of Ironbark Lookout is incredibly creepy, entirely believable, and will leave you wanting explanations for everything. I loved the dialogue throughout the game. I am a huge lore nerd and love learning the backstories of characters or about the towns that you explore. The mechanics were definitely more detailed in comparison to the previous episodes, and I did enjoy these quite a bit. You will have the ability to input weather conditions (wind, temperature, and weather) into your computer as a park ranger, and you also have the job of finding campfires/forest fires or helping hikers find their way back to civilization. I really recommend this game to any indie horror game lover.
