Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves Review (RunningWild)
The Good: SNK's 3D continues to improve after the absolute turd that was The King Of Fighters XIV. You can enjoy the original Garou: MOTW of Steam with rollback netcode.
The Bad: Still has nothing on the masterclass of 2D pixel art they were doing 25+ years ago. Gameplay wise, I feel like it's completely lost it's identity as a Fatal Fury game. Base gameplay from MOTW has been nerfed into the ground, the control scheme is a disaster beyond belief for a series that used to be so simple and easy to pick up and play to comprehend. Making this into a 5 button game is just fucking stupid. This game is just straight up a massive downgrade coming from the games before it. It does nothing that I find the least bit interesting or better than what's already been done. Drive Cancels from The King Of Fighters XIII? Universal Armored Moves? Two Button Throws? All-in-One Does Everything 5th Button? Slow down effects? No thanks.
The Ugly: Real life guest characters. The English Voice acting is some of the worst I've ever had the displeasure of listening to since KOF Maximum Impact.
