Fantasian Neo Dimension Review (Bamadeus)
This game really feels like a ps1 era FF game in the modern age.
Remember back when RPGS all had your 3d models running around on a painted background?
well in this all of the environments are actual handcrafted dioramas, and running around on them really brings me back to games like ff7-9, except since it's a full 3d model it's more dynamic and fluid.
So far the story and battle system feel really good. I enjoy the lost odyssey style short stories to fill in memories.
one core system of the game that you unlock a little ways in is the ability to "store" random enemy encounters and fight them all at once in a gauntlet whenever you want, or when it hits 30 enemies. this feature is SO nice. sometimes when you just want to take a sec to explore and loot chest it's nice to not be interrupted by random encounters. it's also so much more fun, engaging and mp efficient to battle these big group of enemies at once. instead of doing 15 easy normal encounters, you do one giant one which is more difficult and requires a little more tactical consideration.
I've been really enjoying this so far. if you're a fan of turnbased rpgs, especially of the ps1 era, then pick this up. ignore the clowns crying that $50 is "too much" and just enjoy a good game.
