Fallout: New Vegas - Courier's Stash Review (Dannel)
really terrible dlc to be honest,
it ruins the power progression and balancing of going to new vegas because you start off with mid game weapons in a game that's like 30 hours, you can literally kill a deathclaw from the get go. why did they think giving the player a max conditioned grenade launcher that is boosted in stats and has a ton of ammo would be a good idea?
it makes sliding shows worse with the occasional random notification about taking a sip out of a canteen, which is funny but funny is bad for some of the most serious and interesting parts of the entire game, aswell as its dlcs.
also as a footnote, it makes starting up a new save irritating.
the only cool thing about this dlc is the classic pack cause of the nods to the first two fallout games (which are amazing games btw), but it botches it because instead of integrating it into the main world of the game in a genuinely fun and meaningful way, like at the crashed highwayman.. it instead ruins it by being a boring marketing gimmick to get nostalgic people to buy. (for context the classic pack was a pre-order bonus in some places.)
thankfully you can disable and even pick and choose which pack you want enabled, so thats cool, but it doesnt change the fact that its broken as hell and makes alot of the game worse with no real benefit, unless you like the early game being an easy breeze, which is a pretty fair reason. but i wouldn't count it as a plus for this dlc because of the fact that you would have to pay for the game to be easier. that's stupid, and while its not the same, you can get that for free in the base game.
i am aware that you can enable it later in the game, but there isn't really a way to justify getting a bunch of stimpaks doctor's bags, weapon repair kits, and free health/hydration every once in a while as being fair, the more you progress without it the less of an impact it makes, but the more you progress the more you wont use it, so you may as well use it at the start. only reason to wait is if you want the vault 13 suit for vanity but want it to be balanced. you can like, enable it if you make it to the wrecked highwayman, to make some sort of story justification.
