Fallout: A Post Nuclear Role Playing Game Review (smiley)
This game protects within it an amazing, hard-hitting narrative that is sneakily hidden behind an intense learning curve, and an unforgiving world, unforgiving combat, and unforgiving people in every regard. In spite of that, the feeling of pride and satisfaction that came with the passing trial and errors motivated me to continue the Vault Dweller's journey, and I can safely say that it was absolutely worth it; I nearly completely dropped this game around 9 hours in, feeling frustrated and like the odds were much too stacked against me, but I was compelled to give it one final shot--and that was when everything began to click. Something about feeling defeated but coming back regardless, blah blah blah, then the epiphany hits.
I would recommend this bizarre, cruel, amazing and unique game to anyone that loves an unending challenge. I also enjoy Souls games, and that probably says something about the reason I love this game. The game also has so many unique dialogues available to choose from (depending on the stats you pick) and that probably lends to the game's replayability. Narratively, it remains similar, but it's worth it regardless to explore all the weird, fun options, and that goes for both dialogues and weapon play-styles.
I'll also say that if you go into this game, feel absolutely no shame in looking up answers to your questions hundreds, thousands of times, because this game explains very little to you and lets you suffer your own consequences very comfortably! That being said, it was kind of comedic still learning things about the UI that would've made the journeys before much easier.
TLDR: first its sour, then its sweet... then its sour again, then its sweet again...? then its sour again.... and so on and so forth.....
