Fallout 4: Vault-Tec Workshop Review (stratzilla)

You may enjoy your time with Vault-Tec Workshop if you have a knack for settlement building or have an interest in building a vault. You'll have to contend with frustrating bugs related to the questline and settlement building in general, though.
+ something here for lovers of base building
- buggy to high heavens
- boring with only an emphasis on building, not really questing

Full Review

It's short and secluded to one area with a focus on building a vault. It can be cool planning out your layout and building a new home for you and your settlers, but you'll have to combat tedium and frustration at the buggy settlement building.
Too often stairs wouldn't snap, or floors would snap slightly off-center, or walls can only be placed backwards and rotating does nothing... it's so frustrating and an aspect I never got into in the base game.
I tried in earnest to make a multistorey vault and quickly ran out of materials and it was a chore bringing more in because for the scope the DLC expects you to fulfill is just way too material expensive.
On several occasions the overseer would get stuck in world geometry, forcing me to use console commands to despawn and respawn. If you're on consoles, or want to avoid using console commands, you'll have to destroy parts and rebuild to not mess with the pathfinding. It's a mess.
I wouldn't suggest getting this DLC unless you're a diehard fan of base building. I'm not interested so I can't recommend it personally.
