Fallout 4: Vault-Tec Workshop Review (Kyezoar)

Yet another Fallout 4 Workshop that still isn't that great but has a little bit more going for it. (Still I only recommend getting this with the Fallout 4 GOTY bundle which is why I still recommend it)
Fallout 4's Vault-Tec Workshop DLC is yet another Workshop DLC for Fallout 4, except this time there's actually some substance to it! The main idea is being able to manage your own Vault Settlement as a good ol Vault Overseer! Along with a plethora of Vault Decor, Vault Rooms, and a new side-questline. While it's certainly a improvement in some ways it yet again falls under the issue of, why should I do this, considering the whole Vault management thing. At least when doing a casual playthrough.
Now the main draw of this DLC is the brand new questline involving Vault 88. Basically being a Vault Dweller, you're able to gain access to said vault and activate a questline where you basically do what almost every vault on the series does, conduit questionable experiments on citizen for the sake of.... science? Each one boils down to having a new workshop item to hook up to a power source and from there do a "experiment" and get result depending on how you set it up. Extremely basic and pretty easy, really just a another way to earn decent EXP. However the MAIN attraction is the Vault itself and.... It's alright? It's certainly the biggest workshop in the entire game but while it clearly is nudging you in the direction to build a fullblown vault of your own, I think the problem is that it takes a insane amount of time to do that since you start with almost NOTHING in the main area. I think the DLC could have benefited by having a vault template to start of with, where from there you could modify to whatever you please! But really it just ends up being another settlement that you may or may not find use out of plus some vault items and furniture that look really out of place elsewhere.
Overall, I feel like the Vault-Tec Workshop while having the great idea of having a quest tie-in with the workshop items added in the DLC, still finds it on the same level or even worse than the other Workshop DLCs simply because it just takes way too much time to actually built a proper vault. It would have been so much better if they had a template that was pre-built that was easy to modify and add onto. Plus most of the Vault-Tec items fell very out of place outside of the Vault Settlement since they're either too clean or simply just don't fit in the Commonwealth itself. Thankfully this IS included in the GOTY edition for a very excusable price as all the gameplay DLCs going forward at least have SOMETHING going for them that's actually pretty decent.
