Fallout 4: Vault-Tec Workshop Review (2 week old mozzerela stick)
In my very short time seeing the negative reviews, many of them say that its buggy, junky and overall bad, and I agree. BUT I'm going to go into a little more detail.
1: The whole thing is very short. If you know what you're doing an have the necessary resources for some of the quests, you can knock this whole thing out in about 2-3 hours.
2: The things you get aren't too special. I do like how you can choose what they can be, but the main reason why people would buy this is so that they can make their very own vault. Which leads into my next grievance.
3: A whole lot of space for a whole lot of nothing. It's by far the largest build area with 3 separate workshops to get the whole thing, BUT it's far too large and somehow constricting. Most of the time you're gonna be building hallways to get to the locations and when you do, it's smaller than you'd think.
4: Actually building the vault. I'm not going to sugarcoat it, it's over inflated. Along with the surprisingly tight restrictions, you get things that you have no purpose using, like a nursery room...for children...you really gonna act like you'd need that?
5: Lighting. It's really dark, and the lighting you get from this DLC is so ungodly shit. Withing a two foot radius, you're basically blinded by the sun but the second you get 5ft away it turns into damn near crippling darkness.
6: Location location location. If you've played Fallout 4 before then you know that the further south and east you go, the harder enemies will get, and the vault just so happens to be next to the ever so infamous Quincy. A lovely little town filled to the brim with gunners ON TOP of being in the nearby quarry that's both highly radioactive and filled with Raiders on the south-easternmost border of the game! They could've picked a better location but at least it wasn't the glowing sea.
Consensus: $5 DLC full of things you wont use in a workshop that's both super expansive yet feels tighter than a fat woman's bra, is darker than night AND located in one of the most dangerous areas of the entire game. Not worth it
