Fallout 4: Far Harbor Review (LafTrak)
Far Harbor, what is there to say that hasn't already been said? Great atmosphere, a great story, and great quests all culminate in the best DLC for Fallout 4, but I wonder how did Bethesda screw up with the main game so hard? yet didn't screw up with Far Harbor? Anyway, I do love this DLC. I have always loved the foggy port town vibe, especially when that town has dark secrets. I love the creature designs too! They are excellent, although the anglers are annoying, and my enemy from my days playing Fallout 76 returns! The charred ghoul! But other than that, the creatures are well-designed, and I shouldn't have gone there at level 56 anyway. The art design is on point, and the writing is even better. The quest that starts the DLC is available at level thirty, and I highly recommend it. If you already own the game, you should save money and buy only this DLC for Fallout 4. There are problems; however, the map is relatively small, which I guess is the reason Bethesda may not have screwed the pooch on this one; if they can cover small locations better than whole cities and their surrounding areas, then I think they should do full games in locations like this. Anyway, The story is also relatively short and can be done quickly. I also realized that the DLC wraps up everything when you get to DiMA's memory vault in The Nucleus. I found it interesting since it gives you so much info and yet also disheartening because it gives it all to you quickly with little time for elaboration. You figure out the secrets, which I am not going to spoil, but they reveal a lot too quickly, and you can talk to DiMA, and he can elaborate further on why these things must be kept secret. But it feels like having my favorite show wrapped up in one episode. But otherwise, great DLC 9/10.
