Fallout 4: Contraptions Workshop Review (Kyezoar)

A building pack that good in concept but I never found the need to actually spend the time constructing (I still put recommend only IF you're getting Fallout 4 with all it's DLC bundle)
Fallout 4's Contraptions Workshop is a DLC full of parts to make contraptions in settlements, either what seems to either be self enjoyment like a rube goldberg machine or to create a resource generator to have a infinite supply gain of stuff like food or weapons. The DLC also contains other gizmos like elevators, various building kits and some display items.
Now what's painfully obvious about this DLC is that it's striking mostly negative reviews. Which is understandable as it's 5$ for some of the most nothing items and a few that actually seem useful for basic settlement decor/construction. But I think the major reason why this concept just doesn't work is because it actively goes against the idea of exploring and scavenging around to get said resources or spending/trading for them. Furthermore with the fact you have to spent quite a bit of time building and wiring the system together, which might be more effort than it's worth. Like completely unrelated but I think Fallout 76 did this automated concept better because that game's Workshops and C.A.M.Ps have prebuilt fabricators for resources and most of them don't cost 5$ real life dollars.
Overall, I would advise not getting the Contraptions Workshop unless you're either getting it from a Fallout 4 Bundle or GOTY, or you legitimately want to build the contraptions in your settlements. Still, the content it contains isn't horrible it's just the fact it's a part of a 5$ DLC therefore I'll still recommend it as I did use some of the decor items and the building kits. But don't think this is the ONLY weird DLC for Fallout 4 that just adds Settlement Parts cause there's MORE
