Factorio offers endless entertainment with its deep strategy and immersive gameplay. This is a game thatβll take control over your life! Itβs by far the most addictive game Iβve played. Factorio seems highly complex when you first look at screenshots or videos of othersβ bases, but itβs not difficult to get into.
It offers an in-game tutorial system with tips about most of the different items, hotkeys, and techniques in the game β as well as a playable tutorial campaign thatβs extremely well-made. The tutorial campaign is 10β15 hours of content, and itβs fun and engaging to play, feeling more like a game on its own rather than a tutorial. Itβs available for free in the demo, which I recommend playing to see if Factorio is the game for you. Some aspects of the game, such as train mechanics, also offer playable tutorial segments that offer in-depth guidance on that part of the game.
Factorio was inspired by modded Minecraft, particularly the BuildCraft and IndustrialCraft mods. It feels like what a Tekkit modpack for Minecraft would be if it were a game built from the ground-up. The game is extremely polished, with very few bugs and lots of nifty quality-of-life features, as well as a huge modding community offering an endless amount of content, changes, and improvements. However, I recommend playing the game without mods until youβve reached a point where you feel like youβve βfinishedβ your first playthrough, except for a few quality of life mods that you may add at any time (although I still recommend playing the game without mods for a while regardless).
The graphics are quite nice for this type of 2D, top-down-view game. The performance
Conclusion
Factorio offers an enticing gameplay loop where you build machinery and logistics apparatus, upgrade those devices, and optimize your factory. Itβs a game all about automation and optimization, where you constantly strive to produce everything as quickly and efficiently as possible. The game offers an enticing research paths with unlocks and bonuses that constantly leaves you excited for whatβs next. This is a game thatβs hard to put down! While the game is never on sale, itβs hard to deny that the game is undoubtedly worth the 32 β¬/$35. This is one of those games that youβll get hundreds upon hundreds of hours out of β if not thousands!
