F.I.S.T.: Forged In Shadow Torch Review (Giddster)
I kind of wish there was a meh button for this game. I got it in 2021 and I remember enjoying the hell out of it then. Several times when i had nothing to play I considered picking this up again, but I didn't want to revisit it too soon and remember everything.
Well, I installed the game again a few days ago and honestly, I'm uninstalling it again. I just ended up getting kind of bored to be honest. Maybe it's because I have played many excellent Metroidvanias since then and gotten a bit spoiled?
In any case, I distinctly remember very much enjoying the first playthrough. So maybe it's just a game that isn't super replayable?
I will say this: the weapons are cool, the additional gear too, and I like the dieselpunk-y atmosphere. The story is pretty formulaic and the music is not as great as I remember, but all in all, it's at least a decent game. I would say the only thing that might be a dealbreaker for some is that once you get attacked by an enemy, it's quite difficult to recover until you have hit the ground. However, if you master the parry (which isn't super difficult, honestly), you can ensure you don't get pancaked all the time.
So maybe get this on sale?
