Expeditions: Rome - Death or Glory Review (Dynadroo)
I thought that any expansion on the brilliant Expeditions: Rome game would be a must have, and I was wrong about this one.
Death or Glory basically adds a rather silly gladiator component to the game that has very little impact on the actual game, and it isn't even very interesting. You don't get experience for playing it, there's very little denarii reward and it's just an annoying distraction.
The worst issue with this DLC is that it destroys the game to some degree, as it adds a Gladiator class with all kinds of silly skills. Unfortunately, the Gladiator class becomes so ubiquitous that you can't recruit Praetorians without sifting through tons of recruiting cycles, as every other one comes up as a gladiator, and you can't find the other classes who actually help you in the game. Also, about half of the equipment you find after you download the DLC is goofy gladiator stuff like scissors, or imbued with senseless gladiator skills which make the weapons basically useless.
I would not download this DLC if I had it to do again. It detracts from the game.
