Everspace 2: Titans Review (Linkblade)
A bit overprized for the content this brings, but the content is definitely worth your time!
This DLC (Titans) brings no new star system, nor a new planet, but just two more optional side quests for mid of the mainstory game. The side quests Dreadnought and Leviathan are of the longer type like the bandit war side quest in Drake. So there is some more going on here and after completion these side quests will reoccur in specific places to be replayed. They will be like random encounters but marked with a symbol for you to know it's this special encounter.
Dreadnought is straight forward a cool big fire fight against the biggest ship in this universe. It sends out many small ships, shoots missiles and lasers. You're not alone, but attack together as a team of renowned pilots. It's cool but it gets a bit repetitive after some replays. Also it's a bit frustrating that it's not possible to destroy the big ship.
Leviathans is a different story. These super rare species is still alive! You get ingested into a living Leviathan and have to complete 4 rooms/parts of its innards before you find what you're searching for in the 5th. Here the gameplay is opposite of what you're used to. You shall not shoot around on everything opposing you, no, but instead you got to complete specific tasks like pull out harpoons from wounds, shoot only specific enemies or just survive for a minute without guns blazing. You got to be careful not to disturb the living Leviathan from inside too much, as there is a disturbance meter and when it is full it aborts the mission by disgorging you. There is an achievement to do this mission 20 times, which is a bit repetitive, but not too much. Also it's a bit unpleasant regarding repetitiveness, that this side quest only occurs on one specific planet and not like Dreadnought anywhere in a whole star system.
Yes, this DLC is required for 100% achievement completion.
There will be at least one more DLC before Everspace 2 is complete. There is a whole star system on the map which can still not be entered yet.
