Everspace 2: Titans Review (certificus)

The titan is not an actual enemy like the smaller ships. It is a stationary object that looks like a ship that you sometimes have to intercept and do some puzzle solving tasks that you probably will not enjoy because you expected to face off against an actual titan and actually kill it.
The titan is completely unkillable, and the narrative justification for that is that it somehow always manages to warp away from the fight after some puzzles get solved. The antagonist is incredibly stupid and annoyingly calm during every encounter and it only serves to make her sound dumb, since every single time we find and beat the titan she commands, she throws a bland remark at you about how it is interesting that you can always find her or how its time to leave for now.
Honestly, coming from Everspace 1, I really wanted an enemy that rivalled the size and awe factor of staying in a sector for too long and seeing a fleet of monstrously sized battleships warp in to annihilate you, but this is nothing in comparison, sorry to say. Even something the size of the Okkar Frigate from the first game would have been insanely cool.
Mostly disappointing. You will never see the titan spawn in any actual fight and you will never actually kill it. You will just kill a bunch of tiny ships that it launches at you, throw some orbs at it or redirect some missiles it shoots at it before it, once again, for the 30th time, warps away.
