Europa Universalis IV: Domination Review (Stormcrow)
First and foremost, this is an immersion pack. Not an expansion. There is no universe where I should be paying the extra 5 euro. It's the price of the sandwich, I'll live, but the precedent it sets is a little worrying. If it was 15 euro like say, Golden Century, it would be a pretty nicely sizable immersion pack, but making it cost the same as Cradle of Civilization or Rights of Man says Paradox considers the content it offers at the same level, in both quantity and quality and that's just not the case.
But that aside, this is a terrible immersion pack. It adds content and buffs to the countries that already had the most content and were already the strongest. The Ottomans are no longer a tough challenge someone playing near them needs to overcome, now they're just a major pain in the ass with an insurmountable forcelimit you have to grind down against mountain forts for hours. Same thing with Spain, who are now so ridiculously broken you might as well give up on Iberia if you can't fight them before the wedding. New content in Japan is cool, I guess, but it's very much ruined by Korea ALSO now being even more utterly broken, getting free institutions just for existing, so if your relations sour, have fun wasting thousands of mana to catch up if you want to fight them. Not recommended.
