Eternal Threads Review (The Archmage)
Charming, quirky british time travelling puzzle. Some very british references dotted around (lol home sweet home), set in NW England. Some not-100%-believable accents especially in voicemails, mind you lol Strongest performance by Linda I think, but I have to admit Neil got a laugh out of me in the timeline where he vows to talk to his parents tomorrow, gets a good night's sleep and then tries to climb out the window and dies(!).
Some events are deciding points in time that will lead to consequences, all connected between 6 people. Your task is saving their lives (and better still, solving their interpersonal problems too) while also finding the source of the temporal anomaly.
You get an interesting look into people's lives, though most is tv-soap level adolescent drama. It's a very quirky game, but does well what it tries to. Could have even been made bigger with more choices. Lots of room for a sequel and potential to flesh out the time travelling aspect in another location and time.
I don't know how many people will enjoy cycling between timelines and choices as a game, something more like Zero Time Dilemma is much more intense and exciting in the same theme.
One character can even sense us which is a nice touch but played a bit too on the nose with narration. The setting of an old british family home converted into rented rooms for uni students is refreshing as a game setting.
I do feel sorry for Tom's lovely family home getting run down and everyone constantly running their shoes on all the carpets (sometimes even shoes on the furniture), it is infuriating haha However - The setup is a little unbelievable that the landlord would be allowed to rent out a house to anyone with that poor a wiring setup at the front door! Tom, mate, that fusebox needs some RCDs, every room looks overloaded, you can't just keep extending failing 70 year old circuits for your little basement secret and not expect consequences lol
