Eternal Threads Review (Boogle)
A brilliant hidden gem. You're essentially doing a Quantum Leap and putting right what once went wrong. Instead of becoming someone, you essentially tweak the choices multiple characters make. What I especially like is how there's almost 2 distinct wrongs in the game. The first wrong is that everyone dies in a fire, they need to survive. The second is to really put right what once went wrong and fix some deep personal issues.
Getting everyone out alive is somewhat straight forward and enjoyable. The second 'wrong' is what I found the most interesting by far. Small changes to one person will have a knock-on effect for other people. The best part is this isn't a typical game where 'make everything better' makes everything better. People aren't so easy, and without a little strife or a few mistakes, you can't grow. There's excellent crossover here between different characters, where you need to consider the bigger picture.
Fortunately, things don't get too complicated, and you can quickly change choices on a timeline without having to go through the same conversations over and over. This view also shows how dramatic some of the seemingly smaller choices can be. Changing one choice near the beginning can result in a huge cascade of adjustments all the way down the timeline. Don't worry though, it's all very manageable and understandable.
