Ember Knights Review (Fancy Bulge Inspector)
Ember Knights is a game based on skill, and timing, all of the bosses are fun to fight, and the mini bosses keep you on your toes, with a system in place so that their move sets are randomized accordingly, the fact that this system even exists kind of just proves that this game has quality.
This is one of those games that's simply better with friends, it's centralized to an extent with teamwork in mind, not to say it's impossible to win by yourself, but it's much easier to have someone watching your back, as well as essentially just making your dps greater due to how many people are dealing damage at the same time.
The way the ember tree works, is essentially a perk deck, which is flexible and can do pretty much whatever you want, whether that be re-rolling skills, or having regeneration upon a room clear for example, this makes it an interesting experience in the sense that this influences your play style, as well as having the relic shop in the beginning of the game, this allows you to have a lot of control of how the run goes.
That all being said, i think i should talk about the synergy between items, the fact that so many items can play into each other is just fun, and then there's some items that require perfect casts to use which essentially just rewards you for playing well even further, as well as all of the items being beneficial in one way or another, there is no item that will screw you over, realistically it's just your own lack of skill or consistency that gets you killed.
Personally i have no gripes with this game, the fact that it's so well made and only 3 months old as well is just... amazing, and i look forward to seeing it progress
