EA Sports PGA Tour Review (Armic)

Don't waste your money on this dumpster fire. I don't think anyone involved ever swung a club in their life let alone stepped onto a golf course. I think they were going for the unpredictable feel that occurs in real golf, but they missed the mark by a mile. the unpredictability of real golf may throw your game off a little, the ball doesn't roll as far is you thought it would, or rolls a little bit farther or to the left or whatever, but it's a little bit off normally. In this game hitting a "perfect" ball, misses by 50 freekin yards. Also, it's inconsistent so you can't even adjust or adapt (like ok this game thinks 50 yards is 70 so I can adjust accordingly). No, in this game it seems like every shot has a random set of physics that can't be learned. That's not golf. Also, they don't have a driving range or any mechanism to "practice" or learn the interface. They just throw you into a master’s tournament with the commentators riffing about how much you suck.

So in summery...
1. Inconsistent game physics that doesn’t appear to have any basis in reality so it’s unpredictable in a way that can’t even become predictable after “practice”.
2. No tutorial or training or even and explanation about how the physics works or why 2 identical shots on identical holes will have vastly different outcomes. And, they’re not differences like on one shot the ball rolled an extra yard or two, like in real golf, but differences like one shot lands close to where you placed the target and one shot is 50 yards off with no explanation or hope of understanding what just happened.

Golf can be frustrating, but you learn by playing and you can adjust so that you don’t make the same mistakes, or at least not as bad. This game is frustrating but not like golf is frustrating. If you say, in this game 2+2=5, fine I can adjust/adapt but when you say 2+2=4 or 5 randomly and there’s no apparent pattern or reasoning to it, that’s a different kind of frustration

It’s almost like the guy heading up this whole operation is pissed off that his now ex-wife was stolen by some golfer and this is his way of getting back at them.
