Dungeons 4 Review (Nayla♥Bambi)

i enjoy this game more than i thought i would. Dungeons 3 was my first experience from this studio and i thought it was too soon for me as the game would be too similar to the previous one, but it was fun, i couldnt stop once i tried it again. Only thing bad about it was how slow the snots were mining in D3, but in D4, their working speed is just right and good choice that snots in D4 are now needed to work in rooms instead of my precious creatures.
But when i went back to D3, i noticed how lovely the dungeon looks with in the dark-blueish colour underground, except when You open other menus and get blinded, idk why games do this, TES4 Oblivion had the same problem. i like that D4 is a bit different from Dungeons 3, new potions system, the whole points tree, but i mostly never used Thalia's spells because it costs the most precious resources that isnt that easy to get, at least in the beginning of the main campaign. (but its easier once You get the ability to mass-slap the gobblers for evilness. Theres also this ability to auto-collect dropped evilness, but it doesnt work underground which was kinda disappointing). Same for that room where You can freeze heroes, i dont feel like 50 evilness per captured hero is even worth it.
1 other bad thing i didnt like was the drop down menu - it was too big and took too much of the screen - just why?? i know You can scale the UI to look smaller but thats not the solution, because then everything else becomes too small. The building menu was just unnecessarily too big.
Creature models!! The worst part in this game.
The models looked way more visually appealing in D3 than in D4, idk why the sudden downgrade - even the drawings on loading screen in D4 looked better than what we got, its like, You needlessly wasted more time on those spinning cogs in the workshop. i miss my fat archanid, i miss my hulking pit fiend - instead of pit fiend we got that bland looking daemon, could have at least give Him some nice looking pecs. And even converted heroes - in D3 You give them a completely different look when they got converted, everyone turned to goth but in D4 its just a red recolor.
i wasnt that invested in the story, not really - dwarves in wild west? Uhm, ok, as long as i have a campaign to finish. There are some funny parts that made me chuckle, like in D3, but thats ok - i didnt need a 10/10 story, because i just enjoyed the gameplay and the challenges to survive, so filler missions are totally welcome in this game, at least to me.
Only encountered 1 bug, where i couldnt use Gorgu's powers but it was still dooable, so nothing lost there.
The cutscenes were also ok, nothing too hard, just good old fashioned digital drawings.
Other than downgraded creature models, the game is really good and im excited for more in the future ♥♥♥
