Dungeons 2 Review (Entape)
This barely gets a thumbs up, and only because if you are looking for a Overlord kind of game, this will scratch that itch. I almost didn't get to the point where it became enjoyable though, so beware that. If you aren't too familiar with these kind of games and wanted to try one out, go with War For the Overworld or Dungeons 3. I really wish they would stop using the campaign as an extended multi-hour tutorial in these games. Unlocking little bits at a time as you play through. Dungeons 2 didn't really have any terribly creative scenarios that impressed me like many of the Overworld maps and some of the Dungeons 3 maps. They also leaned so heavily into specific parodies that it got old after a while. It was probably more enjoyable before season 8 of GoT came out. The view is claustrophobic and there was a book in one of the side maps I couldn't even target because of its position. Needed much more zoom out and a way to rotate the map everywhere. Most of the missions are just rush missions, where it gets tedious if you aren't going full Starcraft mode. The narrator complains way more than any other game like this I've played, sometimes getting annoyed when you don't immediately do something the moment he mentions it, before you can even click on it. It's the worst of this style of game I've played, but it still does enough right that I forced my way through it. The most fun this game provides is outside the campaign. I'm sure there are plenty of other points to be made for and against it, but I need to rest my brain from the forced tedium.
