Dude, Where Is My Beer? Review (Shemesh)
I love many a point and click adventure and it was nice to hear that someone attempted to revive the old style.
Sadly, reviving the old style also brought a lot of the bad parts of old school point and click back.
The game wasn't necessarily harder, but a bunch of the puzzles follow some moon logic, alongside a lesser pixel hunt here or there. The game has a hint system, but the hints wouldn't proc, so I had to brute force it. Now I have an achievement for not using any hints (despite me asking for hints). The BAC mechanic made me smirk at first, but having to backtrack to the nearest pub to hit the correct level of blood alcohol became tiresome rather quickly.
It also didn't help that our mustachio-d hero walks with the pace of an older guy and even when sped up, he took his sweet time to get places. There is also no option to skip dialogue boxes quickly, so if you're trying to get to the right dialogue option, you might end some time clicking.
Personally, I would not recommend the game. It has its charm, but it lacks polish and the humor falls flat.
