Dredge: The Pale Reach Review (Glamorpuss)
This DLC should have been a separate map. The new items and fish are all located in a new icy location that's to the south, so you already have to go out of your way to see anything new. However, you get a net there that's better than about 3/4 of the other nets in the game, so you can basically just ignore that whole research tree if you're starting a new game. (Unlike the icy fishing rods that only work in icy and oceanic waters, it works in four different biomes.) Worst though, the quests in that area are all pretty pointless fetch-quests. You dredge up a quest-specific item *four times*, and then deliver it like thirty seconds away. If it'd been a separate map, they could have at least scattered those items or the delivery-points a bit more, even if it's just in the ocean or at the edge of the icebergs. Adding a new location so far to the south also highlights another problem of the main game - you spend a lot of time travelling from place to place, even with the spells you get to travel faster. You can find an item to make a two-way teleport to a single location, but the main always has you just doing all the things in one main location before moving on to the next. You can also eventually unlock ice, sold at the travelling merchant, but she's nearby in all the main locations so you can usually sell your fish before it spoils. It could maybe be useful for delivering a specific fish to a specific NPC, but those quests usually have the fish fairly nearby so it's again, totally pointless.
