DreadOut 2 Review (Josh)

I like the indonesian setting and how they show the culture and life of the people there.
The parts with the distorted realities having a nice spooky atmosphere and a great art style.
The ghosts are interesting and creepy.
The overall quality of graphics, effects, audio are ok but nothing outstanding.
But the game still seems to suffer of the same issues from their previous titles:
-The camera handling in ghost fights is still slow and clunky. Taking pictures of ghosts to stunning them at the right time doesn't work most of the time.
-You feel sometimes lost because you don't get a clear direction where the games wants you to go.
I wish they had tried a better gameplay concept. Or at least optimised the ghost fight mechanics.
My gameplay experience:
In the beginning of the first chapter i was wandering aimlessly around for a long time before i realised where the phone is to pick up.
Then i ran into a major bug: I could unlock the school lobby door without having a key.
Therefore the first boss fight was glitched (i got attacked by an invisible ghost).
In the hospital level the game made me clear that a room is toxic. So i avoided it and was stuck in progress because there was still an item to get.
A few other flaws i noticed were some graphic glitches and the Bracelet who still glows red in areas where ghosts are already defeated and gone.
If you liked the previous titles, you should get it when it's on a good sale.
I never finished the previous ones because the mentioned issues. So i gave it a thumb down because i didn't notice real improvements.
