様々な機種へ移植、リメイクされ、しゃぶりつくされて種まで味がなくなった梅干しともいえるDQシリーズ。
HD-2Dとこれまでとはちょっと違うガワをかぶるようになった今作はいかに？
HD-2Dは微妙。そこそこ綺麗になったDQ7の3D背景に、なんか微妙な頭身の粗めドットキャラがいて絶妙にアンバランス。オクトパストラベラーと同じスタイルでよかったろうに。
戦闘画面とかモンスターのサイズ感だったりと、なんかちょっとズレてていまいち魅力的に思えないビジュアル。
恐らくSwitchの携帯画面を意識して解像度とか全体的なバランスで作られているので、
PC等でのプレイは向いてないと思う。
新しめの魔法を入れてたりと細かい部分では変わっているものの、正直HD-2D以外は概ね原作のまま。新しい要素は細かいものばかりだけど、うまくブレンドされて無くて全体的なバランスの調整不足をひしひしと感じる。
種とかアイテムがマップ上にあって、これでもかと入手できてバランスがちょっとおかしい。
音質の問題なのかボイスは異様に浮いてて違和感がすごい。フルボイスでもないし。
便利機能（笑）とか追加されているわりには戦闘、演出とか肝心な部分のテンポが悪い。
新職業も「ふーん」って感じでいまいち面白みに欠ける。いくつかの特技がバランス崩壊レベルで強い。
モンスタースカウトもなんか「ふーん」って感じで面白みが無い。というか単なる小さなメダルと同じような収集物。バトルロードも戦略性やおもしろみはほぼゼロ。
こんな値段にするならVばりに仲間に参加可能とまではいかなくしなくても、戦闘で仲間にするとかにして欲しかった。
難易度（笑）も経験値とか減ったり、戦闘不要にならなくなったりという存在意義の無さ。
仲間のAIも更新されていないのか、状況によってザラキを連発したりとこのご時世にありえないレベル。
あえて仕様を残したといしてもそんな言い訳なのかネタ要素なのかわからないことは誰も求めてない。
クリア後もほぼほぼSFCべースで、GBCの裏ボスが追加って程度。
総評
ゲームとしてはやはり完成してるんだけど、流石に色々と古い。
リメイクではなく、リマスターというかただガワが半端に新しくなっただけ。
この値段払ってこの時代にやる価値無し。所詮、懐古厨向け。
IとIIのリメイクは確定しているっぽいし、それ以後はVIまで同じように想像力ゼロなのに、なんか改めてプレイする付加価値が追加されない微妙なリメイクをしてくと思うと金を与えない方がいい。いい加減このサイクル断ち切ろうよ・・・
原作やリメイクを何度もやってきている人向け：
ほぼほぼいつもどおり。改めてやる価値無し。
追加要素にやってみる価値があるようなのではない。
どうしてもというならセール中に・・・
未プレイの人向け：
根底は古ーいRPGで、そこらへんは多少利便性が向上しているものの、
根本のゲーム性はほぼリメイクされていないので、
いくらでももっと面白いRPGがある今となってははお勧めできない。
だいぶ安いSFCベースの各種リメイクとか携帯アプリとかで十分。

The DQ series has been ported to and remade on various platforms, and has been sucked dry to the bones.
How about this new game, which has a slightly different looks called "HD-2D".
HD-2D seems bit off. It's like a bit cleaner 3D background than DQ7 with awkward sized characters in coarse pixels, which seem unbalanced. It would been much better to go with the style of Octopath Traveler.
The battle screen and the size of the monsters seem a bit off, and the visuals are not very appealing.
It was probably made with the resolution and overall balance in mind for the Switch's portable screen, so I don't think it's suitable for playing on a PC, etc.
There are minor changes from the original like new spells but is mostly same except for the HD-2D graphics. The new elements are minor but feels off balance and feels like not enough balancing was done.
It may be due to sound quality but the voices standout in a bad way. It's not fully voiced either.
Some "QOL functions" are added but battles, presentations, and other major aspects have a bad tempo.
The new class is just whatever and not really fun. Some of the skills it has are balance breaker.
Monster scout is also whatever and not fun. It's just like collectables like coins. Battling with them has no real strategy or fun.
With the current price, I go far as to make monsters able to join the party like in DQ5 but I hoped at least they would join after random battle or something.
Difficulty setting is laughable. It just reduces experience/money gained (difficult) or you never die (easy).
Party AI doesn't seem to be updated and AI spams Defeat/Thwack depending on situation (which no human would use it). Unacceptable level in the current age.
It may be that they left it untouched on purpose for nostalgia or meme but no one wants that.
Unlocks after clearing is mostly SNES base with secret boss from GBC is added.
Conclusion
Game itself is decent as the base game was great, but sadly it is outdated.
This is not a remake but a remaster with a new skin.
It is not worth playing in the current age at this price. It just for the old fans.
As remake of DQ1 and 2 in the same vein are on the way, it probably means that unimaginative remake without anything worthwhile being added will continue up to DQ6. With that in mind, don't give them any money. We need to end this cursed cycle...
For those who played the original and past remakes/ports:
It's the same deal. This is not worth playing.
The additions are not worth it.
If you must, buy it during sale...
For new players:
It's basically an very old RPG with some user friendly changes.
Its core is not remade so I cannot recommend it in the current day with better RPGs.
Way cheaper ports based on SNES version or smartphone app will more the suffice.
If you must, buy it during sale...
