Dragon Ball Sparking! Zero: Season Pass Review (AigisLover)

DLC 1 (SUPER HERO) review
This is from the perspective of a casual fan who does not touch any ranked modes. As such, I will prioritize coolness and fan service over competitive viability.
The pros:
- Beast Gohan. Absolutely phenomenal to play as with an awesome moveset to boot. I love the camera work on his Supers and Ultimate! His grab is so sick when you can land it. His aura also looks incredible in this game. (Which isn't really a surprise, since SZ's Auras are one of the most visually stunning parts of the game.)
- Orange Piccolo. Really fun to play and has unique animations. I love how his Rush Super utilizes his ability to stretch out his arm! I love how his Ultimate is a parallel to Beast Gohan's Special Beam Cannon, using similar camera work and angling. Chef's kiss. His Aura is also stunning!
- Gamma 1 & Gamma 2. They have some of the COOLEST Rush Supers in the game! Gamma 2 is so over the top and I love it. Their Blasters are so fun to see and I love the way the Charged Ki Blast looks with these two. Gamma 2 also has one of the most beautiful unique interactions in the game in my opinion (when you use his Ultimate vs Cell Max).
- Giant Orange Piccolo and Cell Max! Honestly, I feel like these two deserve some kind of super armor. It feels so bad to be fighting Raditz or 1st Form Frieza and being instantly staggered by them. Makes the two of them feel incredibly weak. Their "Rush" Supers (the punch) are pretty unique, although the range is so short that you'll basically never get to use them. I'm a big fan of Cell Max's Ultimate. It looks GORGEOUS. As does Orange Piccolo (Giant)'s Ultimate when you use it against another Giant character! It's so satisfying to see. Sadly, the range is very short, so it's tricky to land. It's a shame how many of Orange Piccolo (Giant)'s moves are tricky to land because Giants already struggle enough as is. They really don't need half their moveset to be nonfunctional on TOP of that.
- The other Piccolos (Base, Power Awakening). I like them, but there's not a ton to say about them. They're simply solid characters. (I love the Power Awakening to Orange Piccolo transformation animation! It's so satisfying.)
The cons:
- The Other Gohans. (Base, SSJ, and Ultimate) These three all feel samey, especially Base and SSJ. They basically have the same moveset. I don't mind it so much, but it is disappointing to see these forms get neglected. Still, I'd rather have them than not have them, even if it means their movesets are hardly different. (His transformation animations are delightful, however! It's not all doom and gloom here.)
Overall, I think this DLC is worth it! There's a lot to love for fans of the SUPER HERO movie. The characters are fun to play and have really sweet animations!
