Divinity: Original Sin Review (Lucifronz)
Despite its seriously glaring issues, I do overall recommend this DLC for one reason and one reason alone: Sir Lora is extremely entertaining.
Sadly, there's very little interaction with him (you'll talk to him at various milestones in the game and he'll make comments sometimes, like when you first see the Hall of Echoes) and your reward for keeping him alive throughout the game is very minor.
Be aware that this wonderfully rude little squirrel is the worst designed pain in the ass to ever grace the world of Rivellon. He will *constantly* get in your way (he warps to you when you get too far away, even while in combat since he doesn't actually join combat), set off traps you don't want him to, and basically make puzzles and combat much more painful than it all needs to be.
However, I enjoyed bringing him along on my recent playthrough. I chose not to use any of the companions or mercenaries and did a lone wolf run, so the company was nice. Otherwise the game would feel very hollow and lonely. Sure, he died once or twice when I misjudged a spell or didn't account for a trap room being extra trap-y, and sure, he made it impossible to use certain spells sometimes because he just *had* to spawn next to me when I'd use Tactical Retreat, and sure he made it impossible to take advantage of my ability to walk through deathfog as an undead since he'd died with me, but he's a very quirky little squirrel and it was worth it.
That being said, in the future, he is not coming along with me. I hear he stays on the ship when you don't use him, so that will be where he stays next time.
Technically I don't know if you have to keep him alive, per se, but who wants a ghost following you everywhere? He's much cuter with brown fur, not ethereal green.
