Dishonored: The Brigmore Witches Review (Kevin_and_Other_Drugs)
The witches of the Dishonored universe have lower standards of cleanliness than a suburban teenager with drug problems.
The story:
This DLC is part 2 of 2 where you're playing as the assassin Daud. Having learnt the person behind the name Delilah, you have discovered who she is and what she plans to do. It is your job to then whack her and neutralise her coven.
The gameplay:
Much like the first half of the DLC, your powers are similar to the base game but with subtle changes and improvements. This DLC has you visiting mostly entirely new areas, and they did a phenomenal job.
The DLC can recognise your save files from the first half of the DLC which allows players the chance to continue their runs with whatever powers, cash and playstyle decisions they accumulated from it.
Some Pros:
- Daud still has fantastic dialogue and character progression.
- The levels are all very well thought out with the usual option of being passive or lethal against characters. (Just like the first half.)
- Good ending that adds so much lore to the world of Dishonored.
Some Cons:
- Can feel a bit short. Especially after your first run and you know what you're doing.
- Sometimes there just aren't enough enemies around to fully test your violent powers but that's more of a nitpick than an actual problem.
Conclusion:
Overall this DLC (and it's first half) are fantastic! They're solid in terms of story, design and fresh yet familiar powers and for the value of the Definitive Edition, I'd say it's worth it. It may even eventually pass the base game as your favourite levels to play.
10/10, will dishonour my gang again :D
