Disgaea 7: Vows of the Virtueless Review (Fastest Honk in the West)
Day 1 DLC pricing is stupid (pay $8 per DLC to get a challenge map in the mid-high ranges so you can unlock a troupe of previous game characters) but you literally do not have to buy it.
i bought the basegame + soundtrack only (i like having the lossless audio in my folders without relying on ripping) and it came to only a few dollars more than the basegame price. Shocker.
More importantly, this is an incredible port for the PC version! I've wanted Disgaea on Steam Deck to NOT be a formatting/keybinding/etcetera disaster for the entire time I've owned it, and after giving up on trying to run Literally Every Other Release Except 5 (because I own that one on PS4 already), D7 is the one that knocks it out of the park.
I seriously can't praise enough how good the PC functionality support is. NIS is going out of their way to brag about it and for that reason I decided to leave a positive review among the negative cries about DLC pricing.
Arbitrary adjustable aspect ratio, no frills, just double-click to fullscreen AND IT CONVERTS INTO SMOOTH 4K RESOLUTION WITH NO CONTROL HICCUPS OR TREACHERY. I can't get over this. I've always associated NIS products with "play it on console because the PC port is gonna be rough" and they've finally broken this streak.
Oh yeah, and this is also the best Disgaea I've ever played, too. Crazy, huh?
