Digimon World: Next Order Review ({ΩαΔ}{XYZ}MF217)

PSA: This is a port of a game that was originally released on the PS4 a little under 7 years ago as of writing. Keep that in mind as pre-release material for this game I wasn't all that aware of any significant changes, nor do I have the PS4 version to compare it to.
That being said, if you like the gameplay format of Digimon World 1, Re: Digitize, Decode? You'll love this game too, especially since you can now have two Partner Digimon in this game. This allows for some interesting possibilities, but with additional potential power comes a price; you now have two mouths to feed and care for on a day to day basis, and individually their needs will be a tad different depending on what training you intend for them going forward.
Digimon will need to be fed a lot, and usually you'll often have to search the immediate surrounding areas for any additional food you can give them when necessary, tend to their injuries if taking too much damage in a single battle, and having to take them to the restroom when they need to go. Fortunately, upon hitting Mega Level, nature no longer calls and thus that need is fully removed from the equation once you achieve those forms, a much appreciated change from how previous Digimon World 1 games in the series handled things.
Keep in mind that this is also not just a Virtual Pet, or even a standard RPG, but rather an Action Adventure game with both Virtual Pet and RPG elements in a co-existing setting as each other. The difficulty for this game may intimidate some people, but thankfully the game provides you with some accessibility options before you start a new game.
Overall? Early impressions are good so far, since this was a game I was heavily looking forward to when it first came out on PS4 despite me not having a means of actually getting it. I feel like an entire chapter of my life from the previous decade now actually has full closure and I can continue to keep on gaming with newfound inner peace.
