Dicey Dungeons Review (AJ Neuro)
While the initial missions are fun and balanced, the further missions are entirely RNG dependent. For example, mission 4 for the Witch character is a slog to get through, and very boring. The game's enemies get repetitive very quickly, as there are few of them.
This game draws you in with pretty art, nice music, and a promise of fun, and then fail to deliver past the first few missions. It's a shame because it doesn't have to be this way. The developer seems to believe that difficulty derived from complete randomness is somehow fun, when instead it causes only disappointment. There are so many runs where there is no chance to win, either because of bad dice rolls, or bad item rewards. This is not how roguelikes are supposed to be.
Even though I enjoyed this game for a while, I can't recommend it to anyone because they will also eventually be as frustrated and disappointed as I am.
