Desperados III: Money for the Vultures - Part 2: Five Steps Ahead Review (Letande)
Surprise-surprise... it's another map. For five bucks. Like with the previous DLC, what we have here is just a single new mission. Nothing else. The story from previous DLC continues in this one, so, if you're going to play them all, it'll be a good idea to play them in the right order, but... don't expect much. Because seriously, the story in these DLC barely exists. Can't say the map is especially good either. Unlike previous DLC, this one includes a brand new map (instead of re-using the one that already existed in the main game), but... it's pretty meh.
I mean, it's totally playable, it's way less linear than what we had in previous DLC, so, if you liked the main game as much as I did, you'll enjoy your experience here up to a certain degree, but there are two serious problems here. First – the size of the map is pretty average. Don't expect anything big here. And second – design is pretty poor. Not only it's pretty basic, half of the map here (I'm not kidding, exactly half of the map) is filled with cotton fields. Seriously, exactly half of the maps is filled with “bushes” in which you can hide. What the heck? Finally, the goals here are pretty dull. Get into the building and kill four marked enemies. That's pretty much it.
So... yeah. It's sure better than what we had in previous DLC, but still, it's not five bucks good. You get it as a part of Deluxe Edition? You may as well play it. Because more Desperados III is always welcomed. Always. But if you already have the basic version of the game on you? New map here isn't something for you to care. Dixi.
