Deponia Review (EatingSpiders)
Outdated unfunny humor, nonsensical puzzle solutions. The two worst things a point-and-click game like this can have. I only completed it because was too late for a refund and I didn't wan't it dragging down my average game completion score, and it didn't even give me the final achievement for completing the game in the infuriating challenge mode. I'm glad I only paid a couple bucks for it.
As far as the story is concerned, the main character is an unlikable loser who never learns his lesson. There are no likable side characters, and the main girl is literally named "Goal", solidifying her as a talking McGuffin who gets dragged around and abused until she finally wakes up in the third act. And, predictably, she is immediately enamored with the spineless creep whose been dragging around her unconscious body and telling strangers he's her boyfriend. Maybe there's some character growth in the following games, but I've seen nothing that would convince me it's anything other than more sexist jokes and bloated gameplay.
