Death Stranding: Director's Cut Review (Liberty-Prim3)

10/10 - Full recommendation!
Thank you Mister Hideo Kojima for making this absolute epic, emotional and mindfking masterpiece !!! My new TOP 1 apocalyptical pc game. It's a title that you will remember for years.
I expected nothing when i started playing this and got completely blown away.
In 2023 this game still looks and plays super nice and pretty, i can just recommend to play it. The Devs are even working on DS2. Just info, the game was even playable on my GTX 970.
People may tell you: "THIS IS JUST A WALKING SIMULATOR"
Yes, the game starts with you WALKING in the wastelands. It's a destroyed world, what do you expect? You won't find any streets and cars in the early game. There is nothing than a beautiful, mindblowing LANDSCAPE. And you have to deliver a package to one of the last cities THROUGH this landscape. This is how the game starts. But you can't just RUSH with running forward or you will fall. The map is rocky, you have to control your feet, control your balance, control your stamina. Watch where you go. It's weird in the first minutes, yes. But when you understand the mechanic it's getting fun, fun, fun.
And it's not just walking and running. The really good story will kick in very fast and THRILL the hell out of you. Horror elements blast in. Suddenly the rain is DANGEROUS. There are "creatures" coming for you. This is very weird, exciting and thrilling.
The ongoing story will give you a main GOAL and many, many missions and places to get there. There are 14 chapters and even after the end you can continue playing and go back to see all the stuff you missed. Playing after the end even gives you new missions which tell you what happened to some story characters after the ending.
I recommend, DON'T RUSH THE STORY. Do the "side missions", try to max out everything that's between the story chapters and make this game last longer. Doing the side missions will give you the opportunity to upgrade new stuff.
Warning! The story is intentionally confusing. You won't understand what's going on directly from the beginning. But from chapter to chapter you will get the puzzle connected. And the story is super emotional, you will fight with tears.
"Story" is not just text or speech. They made a BIG MOVIE out of the story. That's super cool. The game switches between the "movie story elements" and the gameplay.
One more thing about "WALKING SIMULATOR":
In the early game you have to suffer! The game makes you suffer from walking. The game will throw DIRT at you. Yes, the player gets dirty like a car from a dirt race. But this feels GOOD. Because it's like real life. You have to WORK, SUFFER AND OVERCOME before reaching a goal and the goals after a hard way are the only ones that feel good. If it was easy, it was boring.
When you connect the first waystations into the network, other players structures and warning signs appear for you. Decide if you like them or delete them. Don't worry, if you delete another players stuff, it's just in your own game. The player will keep it and it will not be deleted for others. You can even BUILD OWN STRUCTURES into the world that others can use and like.
Following the story you find an electric MOTORBIKE. Yeah, what's a movie or pc game with Norman Reedus not having a bike?
The bike lets you forget the struggle and suffer from walking and climbing.
BUT
It's an electric bike. So you have to reload it. You can build "charger structures" all around the map. Or use the structures from other players. Build it smart or the bike will run out of energy and you strand in a hostile area.
And be careful! Your first bike is unique. If you wreck it, it's lost. And you have to walk again.
In the second open world map it gets even better. YOU CAN BUILD ROADS all around the map !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And following the storyline you can produce new bikes and use that roads. Even produce TRUCKS and load endless cargo.
Transporting cargo from place to place will stay a main part of the game, because you are an apocalyptic "porter" that carries cargo through the wasteland.
You will get many upgradeable stuff that will make your life easier like exoskelletons, new boots, weapons.
And yeah, there is not just "dead" landscape. In the wastelands you will find prepper stations, hostile human scavengers, beautiful destroyed places. And the most important things that even freak me out after 300 hours of gameplay. THE CREATURES. I call them creatures, because i don't want to spoiler.
Over all this game is a unique masterpiece.
One more thing that is supercool. In the second open world map you see a BIG, BIG mountain in the background. I thought this was just HDR decoration. No, it's not. More i won't tell :))
The most fun in the game was enjoying the story and building roads through the hostile landscape and after that, building a ZIP-LINE network what is the ultimative end game fun.
