Dead Cells Review (nubhERxD)
This game is my jam
I usually describe video games as entertaining, engaging or relaxing to people. I have always enjoyed playing video games. But dead cells, It is the first game where while I was playing the game I actually said to myself, "Damn I am having so much FUN!". Now that doesn't mean I never had any fun in any other games. NO, I have loved video games since forever. But in dead cells, there was this feeling of excitement growing within me as I played the game, progressed and encountered new enemies and entered new biomes and got every new weapon, literally every steps and jumps I made was such a blast. It's like I can never get tired of this game, this is the game for me, I fuck with it. I might sound like a child who never got his hands on any video games experiencing one for first time but this is genuinely how I felt playing this game for first time.
Talking about the game, It might have been apparent that I love the game play. Dead Cells has some of the smoothest and most satisfying combat along with the mind boggling amount of weapons and abilities you have to choose from and the combinations of both that frequently compliment each other. Thankfully you have the options because the enemy types also vary drastically, which is incredibly refreshing as you make your way through each level. Another thing I wanna talk about is the artwork in the game it's just looks really awesome, I like it so much also same I can say for the character movements and animations. Sometimes made me feel like a badass which I never was. The soundtracks are really great too, just enhancing everything going on the game by hundred times.
Dead cells is a rogue-like therefore dying is pretty normal in the game. The difficulty increases as we progress through the game even I lost my count on how much I died on the lowest difficulty but I never felt discouraged about dying in the game because every new run was really unique and more exciting than the previous one. The flawless level design in the game and vast ranges of weapons really helped in keeping this feeling alive throughout the game as every weapon is viable and has something unique to them. Best thing about the game or at least the thing I enjoy the most in this game are the BOSS fights! God I love them! even though most of the time I find myself getting my ass beat, the satisfaction from beating a boss never gets old.
Now I am nowhere near close to finish the game and I wasn't going to make any review or recommendation post before finishing but sales are going on so I thought this is the best time to encourage some more people to buy the game. I recommend this game and will threaten you request you to play this game in case I need to too. I hope you'll like it as much as I do :)
