Dead by Daylight: Forged in Fog Chapter Review (DramaticMeg)

Overall Rating: 1/5
The Survivor (Vittorio Toscano): 2/5
Vittorio has a good base outfit, as well as a number of great options in the in-game store. It's a little disappointing that a character from the Middle Ages only has contemporary-looking cosmetics, but they look good so I can't complain too much. I would've preferred if they leaned more into the time period though, as the biker-style jackets are very anachronistic. His perks are mixed. Potential Energy is bad, and I'm finding it to be a huge waste of time by solo queue teammates. Quick Gambit is a little niche, as getting chased close to generator repairs is unintuitive, leaving Fogwise as his strongest perk - particularly for solo gameplay.
The Killer (The Knight): 1/5
In terms of visuals and aesthetic, The Knight is incredible. His towering steel armour and ghostly-green power are very well designed. Unfortunately the same cannot be said for his gameplay... The Knight's power sounds interesting on paper, but in practice is very ineffective at cutting chases short. Delegating a patrol path, summoning the guard, and the guard spotting a survivor all take too long - and by the time it's happened, any decent survivor will just be at the next loop. Furthermore, the hunt duration is so short that it rarely results in a health state being dealt to the survivor. This leaves The Knight in a very weak spot where his only real strength is at camping hooks, making for boring and uninteractive gameplay for both sides.
The Map (The Decimated Borgo, The Shattered Square): 1/5
(You can play the map without owning the DLC) Once again, the art team have delivered a visually stunning map. The burning buildings, wooden structures, and towering castle Exit Gates perfectly capture a medieval aesthetic. Regrettably, the gameplay is terrible:
There is SO much debris that looks like you should be able to walk past/through that instead you get stuck on.
The number of safe loops is far too much; there's pallets absolutely everywhere.
Identifying pallets and windows is tricky because they blend in too much with the environment.
The map is too big. Low-mobility killers have a hard time patrolling.

The map honestly needs killswitched so it can be fixed.
Recommendation: Avoid. The Knight currently provides a miserable experience for both survivors and killers. The only part of this Chapter worth playing is Vittorio, who you can buy for free using Iridescent Shards through the in-game store.
