Dead by Daylight: End Transmission Review (KamikaziFly*ttv)
2023.06.20 Update for today's HotFix:
"Reduced the number of Supply Cases to 4 (was 5).
Increased EMP Generation time to 100 seconds (was 90 seconds).
Reduced the duration of disabled Biopods to 45 seconds (was 60 seconds).
Increased the time to charge an EMP to 2.5 seconds (was 2 seconds).
New effect: Survivors are now slowed by 10% when charging the EMP."
The first of these will slightly encourage survivors to strategise smarter. It will start to become a smarter match after they HotFix it again.
The first strategy is still in play: To hide from LoS after getting a pod on you, then using your EMP to pop the pod that tagged you.
Only one HotFix is a game changer. The new focus for End Game Survivors is to drop a pallet in chase, fast vault it a couple times to push the killer back (slowing killer down), then start the EMP while the killer is stuck in action, enabling them to get away with no slipstream once again.
Which brings counter play back, where it will be desirable for Singularity to bring pallet speed breaking perks to throw off the survivor's timing to EMP and still get away.
Survivors already know to pre-drop pallets while Singularity is in OverDrive mode, effectively nullifying its entire power due to it's short lived duration. Having to kick that pallet is a cardinal sin. Singularity can not fire off it's weapon while in OverDrive... making it still an M1 killer.
===Original Review===
4 survivors gather EMPs and share the results one after the other, then easily find a freshly printed EMP to thwart the killer all over again. This killer would be good if the survivors had to apply strategy with EMPs, but they don't even have to try to be precise.
The Singularity becomes an M1 killer which can sometimes check it's cameras before they can't shoot from survivor interference. Otherwise the killer has to travel to each camera to destroy it and replace it, which can instantly be broken again easily by survivors.
If the EMPs were limited like Wesker's spray or Nemesis antidotes, the killer might have a chance towards the end game. But each survivor can carry an EMP while the 5 printers are each printing more EMPs every 90 seconds. This is way too fast and easy for the survivors to counter all the killer actions.
The survivor has some OP perks! And so now they've nerfed skill checks from being checked every 10 seconds to sometimes never getting any at all. But a permanent 3% speed boost while injured is going to break most killers for loops.
The killer's perks are kind of trash, relying on the survivors to finish a gen you kicked to slow them down for a moment. This means you can't kick other gens, cause the perk only sticks to the last gen you kick. Its backwards. Why would you want survivors to finish your gen unless you are guarding that gen...? And then why would they tap it at all? This means that while you are not at that gen and they finish it that you'll suddenly be 20% faster. So... hope you are in chase.
The killer does have one perk that sort of stops survivors from bum rushing the killer when it downs a survivor, by hindering everyone within 16 meters by 20%. This is kind of nice, so... we'll see it get nerfed into nothing real quick.

Update 2023.06.17:
It takes 5 precision moves as Singularity to SlipStream.
1.Shoot pod on surface. (Max distance of 20 meters.)(Sometimes you have to stop for too many seconds to angle it correctly cause it WILL NOT STICK.)
2.Press CTRL to jump into pod camera view. Try to determine the area you are viewing.
3.Spin the camera in the correct direction to find a survivor before they break LoS, then tag them with a pod. (The targeting takes a few seconds, but is a guaranteed hit if it gets off.)
This starts a cool down on firing again, allowing the survivor time to escape line of sight. Which feels correct. (A different survivor can remove the newly acquired pod with an EMP now.)
4.Tag them again in a pod camera view or with direct hit from arm gun while in chase. This instantly teleports you to a few feet behind them running.
5.Hit them! (If you got this far, this is the easy part.)
Steps 1,3,4, can all be thwarted instantly with an EMP that was already charged in hand or starting a charge and finishing it. The camera pod is disabled for 60 seconds iirc., but the backpack pod is destroyed instantly. Survivors just have to be within 10 meters AoE to use an EMP. If nothing is close enough it does not spend the EMP.
After a while, the pods just dissolve for seemingly no reason. Idk if I'd want them to never dissolve or dissolve faster. There may be skill play involved with the current timing.
It seems today a change occurred that if you are using the EMP it does not remove the pod from your back, but does remove the pod from others and disables the pods set in the close environment.
Something funny: Bots in custom matches will walk directly behind a gen's thin antenna, preventing targetting, and start healing. You must have 100% perfect LoS to use a pod to shoot. Seems redundant to be forced to place 2+ pods at each location when you only have 7.
Something interesting: Using the pod in a tree, The Singularity can target down between leaves at survivors successfully.
The targeting takes time, but when fired it guarantees a hit, unless LoS is broken at any time during targeting.
Survivors can see printer auras at 32 meters. (Thats the range of Plunderer's without a perk!) There is an add-on to reduce by 8 meters. It is easy to see all the printers that have completed printing an EMP, since they raise the middle section in the aura as well.
The current strategy for skilled survivors is to ignore the camera pods until they are tagged with a pod, then break LoS and use their EMP to break both pods.
Survivors can not sabotage nor flashlight if they are holding an EMP. You can drop the EMP by pressing R, but it is gone.
Gabriel Soma's perk Scavenger allows a normal amount of skill checks while spending your toolbox, but once its spent and your skill checks count towards refilling your toolbox you will have a shortage of skill checks suddenly. At most I was ever able to refill it 2x, and only at the last second of the final gen. (Using Stake Out & Hyperfocus with Scavenger.)
The new free map is amazing to look at! See how many giant insects you can find. Go to the edge and listen for growling. There are also sounds in certain bushes. Fun!
The new changes will be decreasing printers to 4 from 5. Increasing printing time from 90 seconds to 100. Decreasing camera pod disabling to 45 seconds (from 60?).
I don't think that will be enough to get adept.
Thanks for the reply, Mandy<3! You're the best! <333
