Dead by Daylight: Castlevania Chapter Review (Raven Frostborn)

I'm very pleasantly surprised by this DLC! Dracula and Trevor are both excellent additions to the game and BHVR has done a very good job on them. The designs and voice acting are both great, while Dracula is one of the most fun to play Killers that they've added in a while. The only negative thing I have to say is that the perks are garbage as usual, with the exception of one Survivor perk that's very strong in some builds; this is pretty par for the course though and it's overshadowed by how enjoyable the Killer is.
Dracula has a solid set of powers, they aren't amazing but they combine to make him a fairly strong Killer; he's similar to Vecna in that regard, although I sincerely hope (in vain, of course) that he won't be nerfed as quickly as Vecna was. He's essentially a combination of Pyramid Head, Wesker and Spirit, but slightly worse in each area than his counterparts.
The fire spell is a decent anti-loop tool, not amazing by any means but it functions similarly to Pyramid Head's power and is slightly faster to use. It doesn't go through walls or anything that's taller than waist height, but it can punish pre-dropping and is especially effective at loops with windows. There's even some mind-game potential at windows, since you can pretend to go in one direction while you actually charge the attack and cast it at the window when the Survivor goes the other way. Overall it's a reasonably useful power, not oppressive by any means but it does it's job pretty well.
The wolf transformation is actually very good now, it sucked in the PTB but now that you move at full speed it's pretty useful. It's basically the same as Wesker's dash attack but without being able to control the timing of the second dash, in addition to some haste and tracking potential. It allows you to close the distance on people much more quickly than you can in the vampire form, while having a solid pounce that can deal damage consistently; it's somewhat difficult to use at loops with windows, but that's what the fire spell is for.
The bat transformation is a decent mobility power, nothing special but it's still mobility so it's nice to have. You move quickly and can teleport to nearby windows, which allows you to have more map presence than most Killers. The downside is that you can't see Survivors just like Spirit and the Undetectable status is basically worthless because the bats make so much noise. It's his least impressive power, but it's still good for patrolling and is something I use regularly.
Overall I'm quite happy with this DLC, I wasn't sure of what to expect after the off putting PTB but BHVR really surprised me! Dracula is very fun to play, without being too weak or too strong; his add-ons are generally cool too, the one that makes fire pillars spawn in the exit zone is particularly fun if you run it with an end-game build.
