DC's Justice League: Cosmic Chaos Review (legato_gelato)

I’d recommend this game to superhero fans and fans of the LEGO games. I’d also suggest paying what you’re willing to pay for a LEGO game, too.
That being said, I had a fun time playing this on Steam Deck. This has a lot of good references for DC comics fans, and it’s family friendly since the aim here is for the kids.
The co-op is separate from the main story mode. However, the mode that allows co-op has all abilities and costumes already unlocked, so it’s better for casual players and playing with kids who want to do everything in the game from the get go.
This game has a Saturday morning cartoon feel to it, and that’s in large thanks to the voice acting, including Diedrich Bader returning as Batman. Other voice actors you may recognize from other media.
The game itself plays as a light action RPG, though more leaning into the action in that arcade style of dungeon crawling through the missions. You unlock abilities as you level, you level the respective skill trees as resources are gathered from defeating enemies and unlocking treasure chests, and you can equip items to boost the characters and enhance their abilities.
All 3 heroes have their own traversal in the over world, though in the levels and missions, these traversals are unavailable.
Notable downsides is when playing this game, after a while something can glitch. For examples, Superman’s heat vision stopped being hitting enemies, jellyfish villains would be invisible, or you may enter a vehicle and for some reason not be able to exit the vehicle despite using the button to exit. The remedy to these is exiting the game and going back into it, possibly even resetting the game. Thankfully the auto save feature means you don’t lose much progress when this happens.
