Darksiders: Warmastered Edition Review (powernapzzz)

This game is Zelda x God of War with an art style by Joe Mad. The plot is a tad bit derivative and shallow, but the themes and backdrop/lore are super interesting if you're into the 'end of days' scenarios (angels, demons, etc.). The story is more of a 'part 1', as the franchise as a whole tells pieces of the overarching narrative in each game. It is a very cool take on a subject matter that has been beaten like a dead horse. This game wears its gameplay influences on its sleeve (Zelda, God of War, Portal) unabashedly, but it's obvious the developers loved these games and showed it throughout the gameplay experience.
That being said, on the hardest difficulty (Apocalyptic, getting 100% items and achievements), you can beat this game in about 20 hours. There is a new game+ option that allows for starting over fresh with the end-game armor; this is exclusively for people that played through once on Easy or Normal and want to try Apocalyptic with an added benefit. Combat is responsive, though you may fight with the camera when engaged by a few enemies (thank god for the lock-on system).
This edition of the game also has 21:9 support, though the graphics options leave something to be desired. I also ran into issues with the audio mixing being weird/off when I played in fullscreen (this was remedied by playing in fullscreen borderless mode). I also had an issue with cutscenes freezing while playing in fullscreen, also remedied by fullscreen borderless. Do yourself a favor and adjust the FOV in the advanced options to your liking so you're not looking at War's backside the entire game.
This game is a solid 8/10, easy recommendation, and a STEAL on a sale. Best Zelda-style game I've ever played.
