Darkest Dungeon: The Shieldbreaker Review (Hat8)
The Shieldbreaker is one of the most enjoyable hero classes in Darkest Dungeon and definitely a must-have for the game.
Darkest Dungeon is amazing at making every hero enjoyable to play in multiple ways and fortunately the Shieldbreaker does not disappoint. She is a glass cannon with high attack power, lots of mobility, and lots of evade. Most of her attacks are best done from the front two positions, but she can inflict blight on most enemy positions from any hero position so she can have her abilities setup to help with any party. Her main armor piercing attack pushes her forward one position, but she also as an AOE attack that pushes her back one position from the front. She can also break Guard, and/or stealth. She can do a lot, but she is balanced by having only having four ability slots like the rest of the heroes. She is also balanced in the early game by having to fight nightmare battles after campfires that give her a lot of stress. However, these battles are made up of enemies designed to be countered by her and more importantly they give her amazing trinkets that boost SPD, evade, blight chance and damage with no real downside.
