Darkest Dungeon: The Crimson Court Review (Kubistonek)
This DLC has mixed reviews because most people expected a new easy area that they can play on autopilot just because they stalled through Darkest Dungeon before.
People complain about how badly Crimson Curse debuffs a hero, but if you read what it changes instead of just checking that it has a few -minuses on stats and only one +plus , you would see that it's +1 speed for just a few -5% to useless debuff checks, so it's actually beneficial. (If you think -5% hp means anything, the bonus speed is saving you much more than that).
If you haven't grasped the basics of this game, just enable this mod when you're comfortable and have a well-developed estate and roster.
Crimson Court is gonna affect your game, and you are going to have to play around that dlc
(for example suffering through the first weeks of plague town events to build a stronger hero roster, so you can go into crimson court with your best squad)
The Curse will affect you in a positive way (if you managed blood well) or in a negative way (if you didn't). Heroes affected by the curse will be stronger, but if you have too many of them you won't have enough blood to keep them alive.
If you build your team without any thought to it you are going to have a bad time.
People complain that mosquitoes have 10 spd and there is no counterplay to Crimson Curse because of that XD
10 spd is easily achievable even on lvls 1-3 if you choose classes that are slightly faster (shieldbreaker, grave robber) which will oneshot bloodsuckers, and that's without
Of course, sometimes you will roll low spd, and risk getting cursed but that's the point, you can't always cheese your way through the game with a simple knowledge check.
Few tips and info:
- Holy water adds gives disease resistance, you can use it before/in battle with bloodsuckers or at the end of the quest (it will count towards random disease check)
- Disease charm is a common trinket that for just -2 dodge gives +20% disease resist
- Riposte and especially Highwayman is strong against crocodilian miniboss (crocodilian hits the whole party almost every turn and has 2 moves per round) and HWM can hit all ranks
- Two of flagellant abilities can only be used when he is below 40% hp so he benefits a lot from swapping skills depending on his health/stress
- You can only catch crimson curse once, so just use affected heroes in Courtyard
basic tips but people somehow struggle with that
