Darkest Dungeon: The Color of Madness Review (Timm8)
Well, here we are, plunging even deeper into the Madness of it all.
My table and keyboards can now rejoice, knowing that they won't be hit because my stress level nearly reached 200 and my "Abusive" affliction nearly made me snap. Fortunately, nothing sustained damage during this DLC's playthrough.
I guess the main question is - whom is this DLC for? I'd say that this is definitely not what you want to start with on your first playthrough. Finish the main campaign (I'd recommend finishing it on Radiant difficulty) and if you still have taste for even more challenging content, then I'd say that you should grab the Color of Madness. Or simply toss a coin to the devs as a "Cheers lads" for creating a stellar base game.
It is tough though and you'll definitely spend quite a bit of time figuring out what the best comp would be for this Endless mode. Of course, if you've already put a lot of time into the game, then you should breeze through this DLC.
Definitely, the most challenging part of this experience was the characters gaining the Affliction during the run, forcing you to suffer through their mental rage, making things even worse than they should have been. If you have character(s) that can remove the Affliction - then it's good times but if not - then it can quickly become a "GG".
The Thing From the Stars is brutal.
