Darkest Dungeon: The Color of Madness Review (🥀cyb̾eяgơȶhiкa)

At first it looked as if it would be a good opportunity to train new warriors. But as soon as you merge from your first round on the farmstead, the difficulty level jumps from 1 novice, to the highest hero you have - in my 10th week case, it was a veteran level. Although it still is good to tag new guys/gals along, the purpose of it isn't entirely met; Provide means to continue or stretching things much.
The good aspect of it is the possibility of going on fighting endlessly; Thus "providing" means but only for the long-term. Technically there is no limit, as long as you can push forward the incoming waves, as objective changes but remains the same main purpose; crystal farming. The good things are the abssence of penalties, such as but not limited to no stress, if you abandon the mission, and mainly boosting reliefs, if you win. This is why I said not entirely, but details.
It can be useful still, but it is not about wandering levels. It's just a singleplayer short arena. You're not told about that and you dangerously waste good money on buying provisions you don't need before going the first time. You only need anthidotes and bandages. Now, since I rebel against today's companies, I would inform you if this DLC was abusive. This one seems fair, even if questionable a bit. I don't know about the other 4982302 DLCs they're trying to sell yet.

The biggest gameplay benefits are the crystals you can collect, to later on refine into something so you can evolve a group of new builds that may provide support for your squads/army and any fighters of all classes, giving it all a much needed fighting chance. In the end it almost seems as if the devs decided to be less of a band of beautiful arseholes and give you a blessing out of Darkest Dungeon punishing difficulty. Of course it is fun, but the DLC is, again, a progress for later usage.
Except for the fantastic voice acting and general effort of the main game, everything else added before that as far as I can hear or see, does not hold up the same inspiration. Its not bad, just not as on fire as the original, it even lacks at least one new cutscene. Clearly showing how quick everyone is to make a cash grab when they see their game rocked sellings. At least with this one, it is adding something fine at the core of it.

I consider The Color of Madness non essential for gameplay, but this is so cheap I can also tip to buy it together with the main game, but only activate it, or only engage beyond the 5th week or so, because you wouldn't have gameplay experience to understand the good side-effects later on.
