this dlc is honestly amazing and in my opinion, makes the whole game worth it. yes, this dlc is worth buying and beating the game until the dlc. i personally wasnt the biggest fan of the game by itself because i felt the first half of the game was incredibly boring and only really god good in the second half, but this dlc makes the entire game worth it. the bosses are some of the most challenging and enjoyable in any fromsoft game (that i have played). they actually made a good dragon boss! it sounds crazy, i know but it is true. perfect finale to the trilogy and personally, i think the final boss of this dlc should be the last thing you fight because there isnt a more perfect ending than the last two being left alive fighting to the death. when i first fought it, i embered and summoned an npc to help, and when i destroyed him, i realized i had made a mistake. so i went through an entire new game cycle just to fight this boss again, properly this time, and it was perfect. truly an amazing fight. this dlc is absolutely incredible, and i pray and hope that the elden ring dlc will be as good as this, and even if it is only half as good, that is still amazing in this context
